W H A T I S A B I D ?

A bid is an official invitation to our organization. Bids are extended the final night of formal recruitment. They are formally issued by the Assistant Director for Fraternity & Sorority Life, Kim Stokely. If you have received a bid, you have 24 hours to accept or decline our invitation to join that semester. If you choose to decline, bids are viable for that semester you received a bid and the semester immediately following.

H O W D O Y O U R E C E I V E A B I D ?

Bids are extended to girls we believe would be an excellent fit in our sorority. You must meet our high standards and appropriate guidelines, both academic and non-academic. To be eligible to receive a bid you must have a minimum 2.3 cumulative GPA. If you are a transfer student, you must have received a 2.5 cumulative GPA at your previous institution. You must participate in each night of Formal Recruitment in order to be eligible (academic and work reasons are excusable by Ms. Stokely only). Other requirements to be eligible include, but are not limited to, never having pledged loyalty to another chapter or sorority in the past and being a full-time, currently enrolled student at SBU . You must receive a bid from our organization in order to be eligible to join. You are not considered a member until you have been initiated. Membership is exclusive.
